Course description:
The objective of the Tourism and Hospitality Management MBA is to impart the industry concepts, skills, and functions from the management perspective. This involves conceptual learning as well as practical application. Specifically aimed at working adults and university graduates, the learning process combines the convenience of directed reading, intensive workshops, guest speaker seminars, networking and field trips. The programme does not train memory retention. The aim is to provide the participant with a working knowledge of the industry which they would be able to draw upon after graduation.
Entry requirements:
An acceptable bachelor degree or a relevant professional qualification conducted at a standard equivalent to a bachelor's degree and Access to a workplace or projects which could be the basis of their entrepreneurial assignments and project. Adequate proficiency in English, for example IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 550. If students do not meet the English requirements, they are required to pass the TIA qualifying test. Applicants not having an acceptable bachelor degree or equivalent do have a pathway to the MBA on a stage-by-stage basis if they successfully complete the 4-module Graduate Certification in Management, followed by the 4-module Graduate Diploma in Management and finally the 4-module MBA stage of the course. They may enrol in the Graduate Certificate in Management course provided they have: Completed a qualification deemed equivalent to an Advanced Diploma under the Australian Qualifications Framework or are able to demonstrate that they have equivalent experience and learning (for example, in the form of ranking or seniority in their organization) or have specialized professional or technical qualifications or such other qualifications as are deemed acceptable to TIA; At least five years' managerial work experience; Access to a workplace or projects which could be the basis of their assignments and project.
