Course description:
This concentration is devoted to train candidates to conduct research at the highest level on questions dealing with the role of accounting information in an ever changing economic environment. The programme offers interdisciplinary training in order to apply basic knowledge from the various fields of business studies to address a variety of accounting and auditing issues. Research in accounting and auditing attempts to address a large spectrum of questions including the impact of accounting information on financial market participants and other users, the problems of information asymmetries among managers and users and the effects of managerial discretion. It also addresses about the structure of incentive and monitoring systems, the difficulties in reporting on increasingly complex financial transactions and instruments and their valuation effects, the convergence of national financial reporting systems towards an international standard of reference and its impact on capital markets, the role of auditing and the economic effects of regulation of accounting information, among other issues.
Entry requirements:
Applicants must hold degrees equivalent to a master’s degree in engineering, degrees from business schools, degrees in medicine, pharmacy, veterinary science, law, architecture; or a bachelor's degree with three years of professional experience. Other applicants with unusual backgrounds or quality career paths will also be examined as special cases. Selection is based on an exceptional academic record and/or professional career, high potential and strong motivation to pursue the selected programme. They should have Management Aptitude Test scores (GMAT or TAGE-MAGE) and English Test scores (TOEFL or TOEIC or IELTS).

Along with the application form they must submit the following documents: two letters of recommendation; all official transcripts of grades obtained at each of the colleges or universities attended; copies of all degrees or diplomas, or certificate of enrolment for current studies; a copy of national identity card or passport or a birth certificate (translated into French or into English); and two recent identity photographs of good quality. They also submit copies of Management Aptitude Test scores (GMAT or TAGE-MAGE) and English Test scores (TOEFL or TOEIC or IELTS).
